Here’s my advice if you’re considering a holiday home sale.

One of the main questions I get asked around this time of year is, “Should I list my home during the holiday season?” 

The first thing to consider is your motivation to move. If you’re relocating for a job opportunity, for example, it’s a great time to sell. The lack of inventory during this time of year will actually work in your favor. Sellers pull their homes from the market during the holidays, which shrinks inventory and helps your home stand out. A few holiday decorations are good. Just don’t overdo it.

Another thing that’s wonderful about holiday home selling is the serious buyers. There aren’t as many buyers as there are in spring or summer, but they’re all serious about buying.

As far as pricing goes, you’ll want to be a little more aggressive during the holidays. Right after the new year, things pick up and more buyers and sellers come back to the market.
